Finding a job

Students arriving on a student visa are allowed to work while you study. You must first apply for a work permit (currently AUD$55) which allows you working rights of up to 20 hours per week during the academic school year and unlimited hours during official academic break periods. Immigration requires that you must already be in Australia and have commenced classes before applying for working rights. Spouses of students studying in Australia may also apply for working rights.

For more information on working in Australia, please visit www.immi.gov.au/faq/student/student01.htm
