  1. Q. Is Lestudent8 a secure facility?

  2. A. Lestudent8 is part of a 4 star hotel complex that provides a 24 hour reception manned by 2 staff members at all times as a minimum. Access to guest floors through the lift is only by guest room cards. Only guests staying on a particular floor can access that floor.

  3. Q. What does my occupancy fee (rent) include?

  4. A. Your weekly occupancy fee includes all your bills such as water, gas, electricity, telephone monthly rental charge, complimentary shuttle bus to the city and Bundoora campuses and free access to our facilities such as gym, sauna, outdoor swimming pool, recreation room and a lot more.

  5. Q. What are the extra costs that will happen during my stay in Le Student 8 Melbourne?

  6. A. Your consumption of foods and drinks, laundry cost, telephone calls and internet fees are optional and extra on top of your weekly occupancy fees.

  7. How do I calculate my monthly occupancy fee based on the weekly fee?

  8. A. In Australia, the most standard and common formula for calculating your monthly occupancy fee = weekly fees x 52 weeks / 12 months.

    For example, if your weekly occupancy fee is $180 per week, then your monthly occupancy fee = $180 x 52 weeks / 12 months = $780.00 AUD.

  9. Q. Can a friend or family stay with me when they come to visit me?

  10. A. If you have booked a Single Studio, it only allows single occupancy and your family/friends will need to book other accommodation with us if they will stay overnight. We offer great accommodation rates for family members and friends for our current students in Le Student 8 Melbourne. Please find out the up-to-date rate with Student Liason Manager.

    If you have booked Double Studio, it allows double occupancy. However, if you are a couple with young child, once the age of the child is over 12 years, you will not be able to stay in one Double Studio with all of you three and you will need to make a booking for one extra Single Studio.

  11. What do I need for checking in?

  12. A. If you have made a booking with Le Student 8 Melbourne for more than 5 weeks, please make sure you have bring your current photo ID, linen, doona, doona cover, crockery and cutlery; otherwise it only takes you 15 minutes to walk to the closest supermarket Safeway to buy them. Upon arrival, please obtain a rental agreement with our Reception and make the payment for your first month occupancy fee.

    For short term stay student (less than 4 weeks), you only need to bring your valid photo ID and make the full occupancy payment upon arrival.

  13. Q. I am interested to make a long term booking, what is the procedure to make a booking?

    Step 4. Response from Le Student 8 with a confirmation letter

  15. Q. I will arrive in Melbourne next Feb/Jul, is there any deadline to apply for accommodation with Le Student 8 Melbourne to ensure that I can get a room?

  16. A. Every February and July is always the busiest time for all student accommodation suppliers including Le Student 8 Melbourne. We do encourage you to send your enquiry, lodge your application online or even arrange for a room inspection (if you are in Australia) at least two to three months prior to your arrival. Therefore you can leave at least one month to make your security deposit payment and receive our final confirmation letter to ensure a room for your arrival.

  17. Q. Is there a minimum length of stay?

  18. A. Le Student 8 Melbourne offers you a complete flexibility of accommodation. You can stay with us for one night with our temporary accommodation rate; you can also enjoy a much cheaper long term rate by committing to a longer period of stay.

  19. Q. If I have enquiries or complaints while I am staying in Le Student 8, who should I talk to?

  20. A. It is strongly recommended by Le Student 8 Melbourne that you should meet our dedicated Student Liason Manager. Just ask Reception where the office is and walk in, she will answer your question, give you a briefing of our accommodation, invite you for a coffee or tea, and even more!

    During non-office hours and weekend, you can always find solutions with our reception staff.

  21. Q. What happens if I cancel my booking?

  22. A. To cancel any booking which is more than 5 weeks, your reservation will be made and confirmed upon receipt of your holding deposit and application fee. Should you cancel your booking longer than 30 days prior to arrival, your holding deposit is refundable. Should you cancel your booking within 30 days of arrival neither your holding deposit is non refundable.

  23. Q. Does Le Student 8 Melbourne provide share accommodation or help me to find a share mate to stay together?

  24. A. Not at this moment. Our most popular student accommodation type is Single Studio with affordable price and fully privacy.

  25. Q. Do I need to pay a security deposit?

  26. A. Your $550 security deposit will be transferred into a separate account once you move in and we keep it as a security deposit.

  27. Q. Can I have internet access in the room? How much do I need to pay?

  28. A.The internet system involves a simple pre-paid scratch card solution sold from the reception desk. Once you have purchased a pre-paid scratch card from reception, you simply create an account from the logon page you will be prompted with on your PC, and assign that card to your username.   29. Q. Is there any wireless internet access in Le Student 8 Melbourne?

  30. A. No.

  31. Q. Do I need to move out during semester break or summer/winter holidays?

  32. A. No. You can stay with Le Student 8 Melbourne as much as you like.

  33. Q. My flight arrives in Melbourne very early in the morning. Can I check into my room when I arrive at Le Student 8 Melbourne?

  34. A. The standard check in time is from 2pm to 6pm. We will be able to check you in before 2pm, giving that we have available rooms ready in the morning. However, during busy seasons you might have to wait until 2pm when the rooms are ready. During the waiting time, please do not hesitate to ask our Reception where is our Student Liason Manager, she will either take you for a morning tea or show you around in our hotel.
